The New Collection
KENZO announces the release of its Fall-Winter 2022 Women’s and Men’s Collection by Artistic Director Nigo. Arriving in September 2022, the ‘East meets West’ launch highlights Western influences and souvenir embroideries. The collection also includes the Hana Dots print characteristic of the show presented at Galerie Vivienne in January 2022.
Featured in a variety of colours, souvenir bomber jackets inspired by those historically commissioned in kimono fabrics by the American occupying forces in Japan are reversible: the wool side features a map-of-France embroidery, while the silk side is embellished with a map of Japan. The same embroideries are applied to reversible pouch bags and oversized berets.

As part of the launch, the Hana Dots print – a stencil-effect white floral print – features on workwear in Japanese denim including coverall jackets, shirts and trousers.
Drawing on the idea of “real-to-wear”, the Fall-Winter 2022 collection is an authentic wardrobe founded in a forward-thinking approaching to fashion. Nigo’s runway debut for KENZO stages a meeting between the Maison’s heritage and his own contemporary codes, which looks to the future by learning from the past. Through tailoring and workwear expressed in largely genderless silhouettes, Nigo creates a premise that unites and transcends cultural and conventional dress codes.
