I stand at the edge of a feeling so vast,
An ocean of fire, both future and past.
Your eyes are the tide, pulling me near,
But I fear the depth, I fear what I hear

The whisper of love, so tender, so true,
A song I both crave and refuse to pursue.
For what if I fall and the world turns to flame?
What if I lose myself, forget my own name?

Your hand is a promise, warm and divine,
But mine hesitates, caught in the vine
Of thorns I’ve grown, a fortress of fear,
To keep out the heartbreak, to keep you not here.

Yet your laughter is sunlight, breaking my walls,
A beacon that beckons, that softly calls.
And I want to answer, to leap, to believe,
But the weight of my shadows makes it hard to breathe.

What if love is not chains, but wings to the sky?
What if it’s not losing, but learning to fly?
What if your touch is the balm, not the blade,
